Juan Moller, doctor and therapist

I'm Juan Moller, a physician trained in homeopathy, somatic therapist and Gestalt psychotherapist. I have had a private practice in Tepoztlán, Morelos, and online since 2016, with 60-minute sessions in English or Spanish.

Training

I studied medicine at the Universidad del Valle de Atemajac in Guadalajara, from 2003 to 2009, with training in homeopathy. I also have three years of training in somatic trauma therapy (2022), and in 2024 I graduated as a Gestalt psychotherapist from the Escuela de Gestalt Viva Claudio Naranjo, Morelos campus, with the thesis "Co-regulation in Gestalt Therapy".

How I work

My work starts from one idea: almost everything that comes into my practice passes through the nervous system. Chronic activation replaces the natural rhythm with noise, and the noise shows up as anxiety, insomnia, digestion that doesn't work, pain without a diagnosis. Medicine, somatic work and Gestalt are three ways of learning to regulate.

Work with psychedelics

Since 2022 I have been a physician on the team at IbogaQuest, a medically supervised ibogaine treatment center in Tepoztlán. My part is the least visible and the most important: the medical evaluation before anyone is accepted, including a cardiac evaluation, the preparation before treatment, supervising the detox, and the somatic integration work afterwards.

What I have learned there confirms what I see in my practice. An experience with a psychedelic medicine can open a lot in a few hours. What opens needs a nervous system able to hold it, and that doesn't happen overnight. Preparation and integration are most of the work.

Ibogaine is not a cure for addiction or a shortcut, and it isn't for everyone: it carries real cardiac risks and only makes sense with medical screening and monitoring. If you have already had an experience with a psychedelic medicine and are trying to integrate it, we can work on it in session.

Outside the consulting room

For twelve years I ran a hospitality project in Tepoztlán built around nervous system regulation, and I worked for more than a decade in technology consulting. I give talks and workshops on the neurobiology of trauma, co-regulation and masculinities.

I have spent more than twenty years on the path of integrative health, many of them looking for answers for my own body before anyone else's. I live in Tepoztlán, where I am also raising my two sons.

It's not only about knowing; it's about feeling, and being felt. Thank you for reading this far.
